JAMES WRIGHT
James Wright, 67 of Moore County left us on July 25, 2008 at St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville surrounded by his family. Jim was born September 11, 1940 and lived most of his young life in and around Maple Rapids, Michigan. Growing up on a farm gave Jim a great love of the outdoors and an appreciation for all the beauty in nature. Jim was a teacher for 27 years and most recently retired from Murfreesboro City Schools before moving to Moore County. Over the years, Jim and Carla built many of their own homes. Jim enjoyed being outdoors working in his garden and farming but his first love was woodcarving. He created beautiful, one-of-a-kind pieces that will always be a reminder of his creativity and talents. He shared his love of carving and passed this on to many others, from students in the classroom to fellow woodcarvers. Jim and Carla were married January 26, 1963. In addition to his wife Carla, he is survived by his son and daughter in law Matthew and Nelly Wright and their children Nicolas and Victoria all of Dundee, FL; his daughter, Amanda Wright of Jacksonville, FL and six siblings. His parents, Keith and Maxine Wright and his stepmother Ruth Wright, preceded him in death. A memorial service for Jim will be held at his home and a date and time will be announced later. Contributions in Jim’s memory may be made to Scleroderma Research Foundation, 800-441-CURE or online at https://www.srfcure.org/forms/donate_form_new.htm Tullahoma Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
