Manchester Area Senior Citizens Center is holding a garage sale on Saturday, July 26, from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., according to J.W. Conlin, president of the organization. He said it would be held rain or shine that day at the MASC building, 810 Emerson Street. “There will also be hamburgers, hot dogs, potato chips and drinks available that day,” Conlin said. He encouraged “everyone to come by and check things out” Next month, on Aug. 9, there will be a supper and a gospel singing with the “Singing Gospel Group” from Whitwell and “The Cathey’s” from Manchester on the program. Conlin said that every day a different menu is held at lunch time at MASC, Monday through Friday. It begins at 11:30 each day. The luncheons are available for a donation of $3 for members and a $4 donation for non-members. He also said everyone is invited to come to MASC each Tuesday and Thursday evenings to play bingo at the center. It begins at 6 p.m. and runs until about 8 o’clock. The South Central Human Resource Agency will be giving away the U.S.D.A. surpus food (commodities) on Friday, Aug. 8th, 2008 at the Fred Deadman Park (the Barn) from 10:00-2:00 the U.S.D.A. emergency food assistance program is available to all recipients regardless of race, color, and national origin, age, sex, or handicap. Those wishing to receive the surplus food must be certified and have the “Gray” identification card. Fairgrounds The National Spotted Saddle Horse Assotiation, headquartered in Murfreesboro, TN, will present their 19th Annual Mid-Season Horse Show, Friday & Saturday nights, July 25 & 26, at the Coffee County Fairgrounds, Manchester, TN. The show is an annual event, with the same date and location, throughout the years. Show time is 6:00 p.m. each night.
